To maintain the high quality of his goods, Gucci hires only the best craftsmen in Italy. The House of Gucci starts creating leather luggage when horseless carriages become more popular in Italy. Gucci's frequent traveling to London and other parts of Europe also develops his taste for elegance and high style. This inspires him to create more luxurious items.

The 1950s. Gucci Gucci dies in 1953 and his sons Aldo, Vasco, Ugo and Rodolfo take over the business. Gucci's trademark red and green webbing is launched in the brand's different products. This design is inspired by the saddle girth (the band worn around a horse). Additional stores are opened in Milan and New York, expanding The House of Gucci to the United States.

The 1960s. The House of Gucci starts using the legendary interlocking Gs as its logo. More stores are opened in London, Palm Beach, Paris and Beverly Hills. Different celebrities start using Gucci handbags and other products. Jackie Kennedy starts carrying a Gucci designer handbag, which later on becomes known as the "Jackie O." Liz Taylor, Samuel Beckett and Peter Sellers also also start using a unisex designer handbag made to look like a hobo bag.

The 1970s. Aldo Gucci aspires for the brand to become a worldwide icon of style and elegance. Gucci stores soon open in Tokyo and Hong Kong. New materials are used and classic designs are reinvented.

1980s. Gucci becomes a limited company and is now lead by Maurizio Gucci. Dominic de Sole becomes president of Gucci America and Investor buys the 50% of shares that belong to Aldo and his heirs.
